Six tents on the Ewaso Narok, yours alone

Palm Camp sits on the banks of the Ewaso Narok River, under the shade of the palms that give it its name. Opened in 2023, it is the newest of our camps and is booked on an exclusive-use basis, so for the length of your stay the river, the lawn and the whole camp belong to your group.

Six spacious en-suite tents stand raised on wooden stilts, each turned towards the water. From your private veranda you can watch the river move past at its own pace, from early-morning birdsong to the last light of the evening. Inside, the bedrooms are generous and the bathrooms are well appointed, with hot and cold running water around the clock.

Gathering together

At the heart of the camp is the open-plan mess, with a high bar, deep sofas and a long dining table. It is made for slow breakfasts, long lunches and lingering conversations after dark. Beyond it, a wide lawn runs down towards the river, with plenty of places to sit and simply look.

An Oasis

In the dry season, the Ewaso Narok becomes a lifeline for wildlife across the area. From your veranda at Palm Camp, you can watch elephants, giraffe and antelope come down to drink, without leaving camp.

Made for Groups

With six tents, most of which can be set up as either a double or a twin, it suits a family reunion, a group of friends or several couples travelling together.

This camp overlooks a permanent river, which is frequented by elephants and other wildlife.

FAQs

  • Palm Camp is located in the Ol Donyo Lomboro Conservancy, northern Kenya. The camp is located on the banks of the Ewaso, 15-20 minute drive from Main Camp

  • Palm Camp requires a minimum of 4 adults in order to book. If you are a smaller group but would still like to book this space then you can pay a supplement in order to make up for the missing pax.

  • We offer Starlink Wifi in the central mess and dining area.

    There is almost no phone signal at Palm Camp

  • We offer the same activities across all of our Laikipia Camps.

    Activities include; game drives, early night drives, walking, wild dog tracking, fly-camping, fishing, mountain biking, bush meals, river swimming and rafting (when water levels permit)

  • Yes we have 100% Solar electricity so no hairdryers or high voltage appliances.

    There are charging points in all of the rooms and the central area. All of our plugs are plug type G, which is the plug that has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern

  • Laundry is included in the rate of your stay, please place anything that needs washing in the laundry basket provided in your room. Your items will usually be returned in 48hrs depending on the weather.

    Washing powder is provided in the rooms for womens personal items.

  • We collect rain water and process this through a UV filter for drinking.

    There are also bottles of drinking water in your room and bathroom.

    The water directly from the taps is not palatable please use the drinking water provided to brush your teeth
